As you may have heard, the Emerald Ash Borer beetle (EAB) has been found infesting trees in Granger. If you have any Ash trees, it is imperitive to protect them before the EAB this invasive pest infests & kills them. Trees need to be protected before the beetles lay their eggs in early Summer. Trunk injections of a newly developed insecticide protect the tree for 2+ years.
In many SE Michigan areas, there are very few Ash trees still alive, that were not protected aginst this beetle. You can do your part to fight the spread of EAB by not moving firewood out of the area it came from, as it may conatin EAB larvae.
